Cornbread Dressing/Stuffing

Ingredients

For 4 Servings

Recipe

  • 6 cornbread muffins (make your own or I sometimes use jiffy mix because I like the sweetness)
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • Meat, (I use one roll of sage sausage. You can use boiled turkey or chicken meat. As much as you want, but not more than the breading)
  • 2 boiled eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (do not use if your cornbread is already sweet)
  • Lots of sage, salt and pepper
  • Stock from boiled chicken or turkey (if you used the roll of sausage use prepared chicken broth)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Cornbread Dressing/Stuffing Directions

    Mix everything but the stock and butter together in a large bowl. Pour a bit of the juice/stock from meat till it is the consistency of oatmeal. Not too runny but definitely not stiff. Taste to adjust seasonings. Then mix in butter. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minute in a casserole dish. You may want to spray the casserole dish with pam cooking spray first. Very easy!
