Sautéed Green Beans

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, ends clipped/trimmed and cleaned.
  • 8-10 slices salt pork, sliced medium thick and cut into small pieces.
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed.
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste.
  • 1 small red onion, diced.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Sautéed Green Beans Directions

    In medium skillet on medium high heat, fry salt pork until done but not crispy. About 10 minutes.

    When done, add garlic, red pepper flakes and onion to skillet. Sauté for 5 minutes.

    Add green beans and mix gently. Fry until beans are done but still crisp. About 10 minutes. Taste and add salt and pepper if needed.
